Good to know
- The whale-tail sandbar at Marino Ballena only appears around low tide — check the tide chart before you go.
- Uvita is spread out along the highway; Dominical is the walkable surf town 15 minutes north. Most visitors split time between both.
- Humpback season brings the boats — book whale tours a day ahead in August–October.
