One coordinated plan

Residency, money, property, and logistics aren't separate projects. We keep your decisions aligned so one step doesn't undo another.

Practical guidance

Clear next steps, realistic timelines, honest expectations. Every session ends with a written summary — no generic advice.

Trusted network

When you need a licensed attorney, inspector, clinic, or customs professional, we make a warm introduction to someone we've vetted.

Why independence matters

We don't earn a cent on your purchase.

Most relocation "help" in Costa Rica is free because it comes from real estate agents who earn commission when you buy. That advice can be genuinely useful — but it can never tell you the one thing you might need to hear most: not yet, or not here.

We're not agents and we're not a brokerage. No partner pays us to steer you toward a property, a region, or a purchase. You pay us for planning, and that's the only thing we're paid for.

"Rent for a season before you buy." An agent can't afford to say that. We can — because there's nothing in it for us either way.

What that protects you from

  • Being rushed into a purchase before you've lived in the region
  • Being shown only the listings someone happens to represent
  • Advice that quietly assumes buying is the right answer
  • Hearing about a region's upsides but not its trade-offs

When you do need an attorney, inspector, or agent, we introduce you to professionals we've vetted — and we tell you openly whenever a referral relationship exists.

The big picture

Your move, month by month.

Every move is different, but most successful ones follow this shape. Knowing the sequence is half the battle — it's what keeps you from paying for step five before step two is done.

  1. Months 0–2

    Decide & align

Clarify goals, budget reality, and residency direction. This is where the Starter Consult fits.

  2. Months 2–4

    Scouting trip

Test your shortlisted regions in person, view properties, and meet the professionals you'll rely on.

  3. Months 4–8

    Paperwork season

Gather documents and apostilles at home, engage your attorney, and get the residency process moving.

  4. Months 6–10

    Property & logistics

Secure a long-term rental first, settle the vehicle question, and plan what ships and what doesn't.

  5. Months 10–12+

    Land & settle

Banking, healthcare registration, and your first 30 days — with local support on call.

Timelines vary with your residency path, document readiness, and government processing times — we'll map yours specifically in your session.

Who you'll work with

Your interests first — always.

I'm Jazi — a Costa Rican national who is also an American and Canadian citizen. I hold all three nationalities, and I've lived, worked, and navigated the systems in each: 15+ years in finance advisory and investment structuring, hands-on immigration and regulatory experience, and practical knowledge of banking, government procedures, and settlement logistics in Costa Rica. I work with clients in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

That's the difference. Most advisors know one side of your move. I've been the local and the newcomer in every country involved — so I understand what you're leaving, what you're arriving to, and everything that breaks in between.

Every session ends in writing. You get a summary and next steps, not just a conversation.
No hidden incentives. We tell you when a partner relationship exists, and you always contract directly with providers.
Realistic, not rosy. If your plan has a weak point, you'll hear it from us first.
Honest scope

What we do — and what we deliberately don't.

Big moves attract big promises. We keep our scope narrow on purpose, so you always know exactly whose advice you're getting.

We are

  • Your planning and coordination partner
  • Educators on how the process really works
  • Your connection to vetted, licensed professionals
  • Honest about risks, costs, and timelines

We are not

  • A law firm — legal work is done by licensed attorneys
  • A medical provider — we never give medical advice
  • A real estate broker, customs agent, or car dealer
  • A guarantee of approvals, timelines, or outcomes

You contract directly with any professional we introduce. Their fees are separate from ours, and we'll always tell you when a referral relationship exists.

FAQ

Common questions, straight answers.

Are you an immigration law firm?+

No — and that's intentional. We handle planning, education, and coordination. When your case needs legal work (residency filings, property closings, contracts), we introduce you to licensed Costa Rican attorneys from our vetted network, and you contract with them directly.

Why is the Starter Consult paid instead of free?+

Because you get real work, not a sales pitch. In 30 minutes we assess your situation, flag risks, and map your next steps — and the $49 is credited toward any Blueprint you book within 30 days. Free calls tend to create wrong expectations on both sides.

Should I visit Costa Rica before committing to a move?+

In most cases, yes. A well-structured scouting trip as a tourist lets you test regions, visit properties, and meet professionals before you commit. Our Residency & Immigration Blueprint includes guidance on structuring that first trip so it's productive — not just a vacation.

How do you vet the professionals you introduce?+

We verify licensing and credentials, review real client outcomes, and only refer professionals we would use ourselves. We also tell you openly when a referral relationship exists. If a partner ever underperforms, they leave the network.

What do I actually receive after a Blueprint session?+

Every 60-minute Blueprint ends with a written summary: your situation, the recommended path, a checklist or roadmap, key risks, and concrete next steps — plus any warm introductions we agreed on. It's a document you can act on, share with your spouse, or bring to an attorney.

How do I pay, and when?+

After you submit the form for the service you want, we'll reply to confirm the details and send simple payment instructions — Interac e-Transfer for Canadian clients, or Zelle for U.S. clients. Once payment is received, we schedule your session. No payment is taken on the website itself.

Do your fees include attorney, clinic, or government costs?+

No. Our fees cover planning and coordination only. Third-party fees — attorneys, clinics, inspectors, government charges, customs duties — are always separate, and you pay those providers directly. We'll help you estimate them realistically before you commit to anything.
